« on: 12:11, Mon 21 March 2011 »
hi guys. rite.
my mate has a mint scooby but on the weekend he was driving (not to hard) but sudenly lost all boost and limped home. when i took all the boost, intercooler pipes off there was tons of oil everywhere.
now theres a pipe off the back of the inlet manifold that has no jubalie clip on it and oil was all over the place around this.
but still dosnt explane why its in the pipes.
only thing i can think of is the rings have gone.

any ideas guys????

Usually that indicates either turbo oil seals or a blocked breather,
The fact he lost boost could be the first,
has the boost returned now it's back? TBH all pipes should really have clamps on them :)

I would be removing all the pipes to the intercooler and checking the turbo for in and out play in the shaft also looking to see how much oil is in the front compressor impeller aswell, As already mentioned above sounds like turbo seals
