Just been in a Toyota Prius
« on: 15:29, Mon 06 December 2010 »
How weird is it pulling off in total silence.... Any slight acceleration and you watch the mpg gauge go down to 30 odd mpg from 100+ on battery !!

Though 30mpg aint really that great MPG on a motorway considering in my Ibiza 1.8 20v Turbo Cupra id regularly see 40mpg on the motorway !!

I've never understood these cars?

Surely the extra weight of all that electronic gubbins (and i'm guessing it's a lot more then the odd 50KG) is going to have a negative effect on fuel efficency?

Don't Toyota make a car that runs on just Hydrogen that drives just like a 'normal' car?

yeh Nissan have a full hydrogen car, Ford and Honda have had them about for years as well,
they are just milking us still lol,
I'm still waiting for E85 to make a decent appearance, it's a higher Octane, and should be far cheaper but the government have dropped the tax levy on it so most have dropped it as it's too expensive :S Morrisons were going to roll it out, it would need a tweek on most monern cars maps but would make a bit more power, were still far more eco friendly than Prius owners as it uses far more to make a new car than to keep ours going
