At present i think it's Giani Santini or Stuart Clark, both pushing 350bhp+ out of a C1J.

it's not Santini, but Santi...i know him, he's a great guy, he came in my town for a drag race at the Grobnik circuit (the only circuit in my country, maybe you've heard of it) he let me have a look at his GTT, it's wonderful!!! and it's the most powerful C1J

as far as i know he's got 450 bhp plus 150bhp nos, best time @ 1/4 mile 11.1

have a look:

I thought Gino was still running 2 engines though? There was a GTT known as the 'Turbonator' running just over 300bhp featured in max power way way back in 1994..

Gianni has 450bhp with the NOS, so that 300bhp engine and the rest (150bhp) is the NOS

In this country Stuart Clark (KPM car) has most powerfull carb'd C1J with around 320bhp and Glen (Hi 5) off RTOC has most powerfull fuel injected C1J, thats pushing around the same sort of power too maybe little more. Both cars run NOS too

They all use the same basic engine which has been tuned very very well, no parts from other cars in there

The twin engine orange 5 is Europoarts Motorsports old car, that now belongs to a chap up north somewhere.

Thats done quarter mile in 11.2 i believe back in the day but its got old engines, not as powerful as todays ones.

I still find single engine cars more impressive, i'm waiting for the day a C1J does a 10sec qtr mile which will be soon.

I thought the limits of how much power you could extract from a C1J had pretty much been reached though and any faster up the strip would depend on the gearing.

No there's still little left in it but its finding it thats the trouble, only problem with that though is you are seriously stressing the engine now.
If you want seriously fast then best and easiest way is to change the engine for something that will cope better with a huge amount of power.

Gearing does help in finding extra speed on the strip but in the end power is the main key into getting quick times.
