My Raider... now F7P project...
« on: 14:25, Sat 21 August 2010 »
Thought I'd post up a small spec sheet for the new WIP>

Fairly standard at the mo but here is a brief run down.
T28
FMIC
2 1/4 exhaust
Samco water hoses
poly bushed arb
lowered 50mm
standard speedlines painted black.

Plans are 285 cam, more boost & some 195/45/13 tyres for the standard rims.
I plan on leaving the car as standard looking as poss.

Bought it last Monday :)

May have James5 old engine lined up to drop in

ARB's  & pads fitted so all MOT jobs are done now, will re-book tomorrow.
RE-fitted FMIC so the bumper fits a bit better now.

Top man matey, hopefully as you say get MOT booked in quick so you can drive a 5 again.

And having my old engine will be fantastic matey, all the mods done for decent power and especially with the turbo you are running

Ok jobs done so far.

New front lines, discs & pads & calipers painted black
poly ARB bushes (old ones were about 3mm oversized, lol)
seatbelts sorted for MOT
dash sorted for MOT
new trackrod end
2 2nd hand tyres for the rear.
MOT booked back in Weds at 330pm so should be all ok & hope to pick up James5 old MSM engine in a week or so.

Jobs still to do.
Set the carb up as it's got a horrible lean spot mid revs if you hold it there, unless it's the dizzy cap & leads, I will be replacing the lot this week so we'll see.

Steve could be a case of someone has knocked the dizzy gear out a tooth aswell, i thought I had a lean spot aswell but I decided to make the dizzy shaft adjustable so you can rotate the complete dizzy shaft with cap and leads on whilst the engine is runing hold it at the rpm you are having probs with and see if you can get it any better, could be a tooth or so out, don't forget that engine had a h/g done so could have been knocked out a tooth.

I don't think Mark done the H/G change on that engine I think Mark got it like that with the h/g change just done.

Faultless drive last night to Tadworth & back in the pi55ing rain, well apart from the alternator coming loose. Need some decent tyres on the 13's or some 15" rims for sure as it's sketchy in the wet
