FUEL PUMP

iv replaced the fuel pump relay with a new 1 costing 56 quid went to start it and just turns over and over so that was a waste of money now my problem has got to be the pump but can i find 1 no does any1 no of a different pump from a different car / renault that might fitt THANKS

Mike at gt spares will have loads.

You checked the Rex and coil relay ?

GSF for the fuel pump, or CGB... If you'd have bridged the relay you'd have saved 56  :mrgreen:

Doesn't mean pumps gpone mate, there are still a few possibility's first.

Do you have spark at the plugs? Did you bridge the relay plug to see if the pump run?
Could be pump wiring, ive had that few times before.

i did bridge the relay but noting happend so just thought i was doing it wrong!
pump doesnt run iv wire brushed the conections on the pump but nothin new relay and yes iv got spark iv found a pump at cgb's will turn up tuesday if that dont work will just have to chuck it in a garage ,,, :evil:

To quick test to test pump and wiring is run a live and neg from the battery to the pump, see if spins then. If not then you know its deffinately pump.

Sounds like it is pump but save spending money out first worth testing pump on car now.

yeah put wires to it and nothin wish id done that in the first place oh well pumps ordered and its all learnin curves cheers 4 all ur help

Allways good to do the relay anyway, plus you have a known working spare  :lol:
