My R5 GTT

Here are a a few pics ov my 5.
I got it in november last year from a member on hear called BriC. I havent done much to it since i got it as everything as been fine apart from it running a little rich wich i got sorted. I have fitted a baily DV and just orded some morette headlights wich i think will finish it off nicely.








I would like to get it resprayed and sum nice red bucket seats but it will do me for now

Lights finally arrived

the colour match isnt perfect but not that far off, also fitted a JBL 1000 watt sub this weekend.


Right, time for a question wich may sound stupid but how can i tell how much boost my 5 is producing or if it has been changed before i got it ?
also does the turbo look a standard unit ? i have been told its bigger than normal

Thanks Ruske but i find it hard to keep my eye on the gauge whilst its torque steering all over the road lol, i have a seperate boost gauge wich i am going to get the missus to look at. Thanks again for the pic.

i think additional gauges are too much, we have all the stock gauge, that looks cool and i like it, i've got used to it and like to watch it going up till the red zone :twisted:

Served me well that car did... one of the best 5's I had!

It was running even richer, but I got the carb messed with a bit, but we didn't manage to get it perfect!

Will be interesting to see this car as you do more to it. Looking good with Morettes too

PS - the guy I bought it off, who fitted the turbo, told me it's a T28. It's very laggy in comparison to a T2.. Remind me, full boost is about 3.5-4k RPM, yeh? Think my stock turbo hits full boost about 2k RPM.

Stock gauges aren't very accurate though if you plan to increase boost pressure. If it's stock, then an OE gauge will do the job just fine.

Thanks a lot for the comments and info regarding the turbo, yeah your right it is a little laggy but a kinda prefer it like this, also whilst driving steadily the turbo dosent have to work as hard so this is prolonging its life right?
your 5 looks sweet mate i can remember seen it when i came to pick up mine.

Yeh, it's good on the motorway anyway I found, obviously off boost you're using less fuel!

Right I got my 5 started today for the first time in a week due to the snow however after a couple of minutes running I heard a spluttering coming from the engine bay, when I opened bonnet they was oil coming out of the dip stick it was squirting everywere! I turned it off waited a few minutes and started it again and it stopped, it was like something was blocked or frozen up Any one got any ideas why it did this or what could have caused it ?

Thats some serious crank case pressureisation that is .

That or the dipstick has come out a bit.

Start it up again , run for a few minutes and turn it off again. It wouldnt suprised me if something had frozen.

Got mine started a few days ago as well , not been anywhere yet mind !
