The S3

Just a quick post about the new car.
99 Audi S3 Quattro, metallic black with black half leather with grey alacantra, standard & staying that way for a little while at least  :twisted: .
Only mods I've done are braided brake lines & some new discs on the front.
It's a nippy little car & handles pretty well for standard IMO, got to get the rear arch done as it's just starting to blister, £175 to sort it..

Loving this car, real little pocket rocket, it's no Evo but still puts a smile on my face.
Coming off a roundabout last night I opened her up, she just pulls like a train & the grip is unreal, as the Noble found out last night that tried the same off the roundabout........ all I saw was his brake lights as he spun coming off the roundabout  :lol:   :twisted:
Bloke prob couldn't drive or it may have been someone 'borrowing' daddys car, didn't see the driver.. If I had a Noble (maybe one day) I wouldn't have spun it thats for sure, lol.

I was thinking about an S4 untill I realised 2.7 bi-turbo prob wasn't going to give better MPG than the Evo  :mrgreen:

What sort of MPG did you get in the evo? Think my mate averages about 25, and that's using the loud pedal quite a lot.

25, 25, if my Evo did 25 I'd have kept it ! the one time I worked it out, on a mixed run with some long stints it did 16 MPG !
The S3 so far is returning 22 MPG according to the computer, none of that is motorway either, thats town & foot to the floor driving, plus I can fill up with 95 & not worry about if the next garage sells super or not !

Slight update..

New front discs fitted, brakes bled & braided lines fitted, full valet, new uprated rear shocks, lowering springs, rears fitted, fronts to do along with new shocks. Also fitted a cone filter & Forge re-circ valve.
Next on the list is uprated rear ARB (apparently the Golf R32 ones fit), poly front ARB bushes, new drop links all round & eventually an exhaust & remap to 270 bhp....

Update:
Fitted new water pump, cambelt & tensioners as the water pump impellor exploded on me, crappy plastic POS it was... All fixed & running lovely.
Next mod is a 4 motion rear ARB, slightly thicker than the S3. Remap £275 & then FMIC.
Just had to give the tax man £1200 to get him off my back so it will have to wait for a bit though

Have to say Steve the S3 is looking alot better now you have lowered it, I bet it handles much better it's just a shame it's so expensive to mod / repair when compared to a little gtt :mrgreen:
