The 2 big live cables (one from battery and one from alternator) go on the stud with the 13mm nut on.

The small white cable goes onto the soleniod, thats the feed from the key switch.

There are no earth wires on a starter motor, the case itself is the earth, the white cable ( being the exciter/ cold feed) wire is basically an " extra power " wire. You can install earths from the starter motor to the neg of battery but no wires to the solenoid needed   :wink:
