lifting the head off

hi guys,
fitting uprated gasket,seem to have followed the advice in the haynes and on this forum to get ready to lift the head off,everything stripped.Head however still seems to be attached by a bracket/something keeping it attached at the back of the manifolds/base.I may need to take off the carb manifold to see?any ideas guys? thanks mark

Prob a bracket running from the rear of the block / exhaust bracket D/P to the head, alot of GTT's don't use this bracket now, think it is a 13mm bolt at either end

yeh i had this problem i followed the haynes but it forgets to tell you about the rear support bar than runs down from the manifold downwards its awkward but obtainable , just be patient !
