Low Mileage Cars?
« on: 18:42, Mon 06 July 2009 »
Hiya guys

Just joined so go easy on me lol

I use to own J245 RTA, but sold it 6 years ago :(

I'm trying to find/buy a low mile, 90-91 in white R5 GTT, are there many about and if so who has them? I remember trying last year and 1 or 2 popped up but I since lost my PM's :(

Any help would be great!

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

There's not many low mileage Phase 2's left in existance so be prepared to keep searching!!

When they do come up they get snapped up pretty quick!

Hoolio on RTOC now owns the lowest mileage J Reg White GTT at 12,000 miles & he recently bought that for a HEAP of cash (Don't exactly know how much but suspect it was a lot!!)

Good luck in your hunt!

I know a few in Holland with less than 30.000 km on it... But they are for sale for about 10k.

They're hard to find and if you find one, you'll probably have to dig deep into your wallet. ;)

To be honest mileage is getting abit irrelevent on these cars now, so many have been rebuild, refurbished that even though it may say 100k for example on the clocks there just as good as they were brand new.

Mines got 22k clocks on it (new ones bought few years ago) but car has originally done about 110k. Almost everything has been changed and body sorted out so almost like new now, mileage doesn't bother me one bit anymore.

But good luck anyway mate in finding what your after, in the end you'll be happy with it

True... Mileage doesn't say that much! I've seen examples of 5's that have been in garages for years, very low mileage, but still are rusty.

Better just find a decent one with a good service record. Or even better: buy a cheap, but decent one with some work and do the work yourself. Then you know that it's done properly. You never know how things are done by others. I've seen a lot of cars which have been 'rebuilt'...

Hiya guys

Thanks for the heads up :)

I've actually found locally a 36k Tungsten grey Ph2, 2 owners form new, last one for 19 years! thinking about buying it, if only it was in white and maybe a year or 2 later on the reg! I suppose your right about mileage, if u know of any very clean white phase 2 cars could you let me know then please? my last one was a J reg and I spent a fortune on it, this was 8-9 years ago tho! it had new engine, gearbox, turbo the lot!

Thanks again

Paul

Serious ?

The letter at the front represents its year of registration .

Eg D 123 ABC

D represents it was registered in 1986 - more than likely in August.

The 123 is largly irrelevant

The last three are the region code given to the registration place.
