T3 on a GTT
« on: 13:11, Sat 24 September 2005 »
I can remember that there was once a topic regarding the fittment of a T3 turbo on a GTT....
But would you be kind enough to explain the pros and cons for such a solution, what could be the problems regarding installation of a larger turbine and what are the solutions thereto?
Any additional info is much appreciated....

P.S. the T3 would be off a R21 Turbo...

I will find some picture of T3 from 21 and T2 from 5 and everithing will be clear after that. It is almost impossible to switch one fro 21 to 5.

Yeah I expected that.... I know your opinion already, but this was a request for someone else who doesn't speak English very well...
So anyone else, got any clues, ideas, solutions?

You can put a T3 turbine from 21,here we have done it because we don't have hybrids at reasonable price:)  You can do it but the results  with a hybrid will be better;) because the 1400cm3 engin will spin the turbine later..  BYE

What other turbos can you fit and from what cars?

There so many variations out there and being a newbie i dont know where to start to look for information.

Do the replacement higher performance turbo have to be water cooled also?
If there\'s one thing i do know, it\'s that i dont know much

Our disscusions here in the Forum led to the opinion that a t25 hybrid turbine is the best choice. The watercooled turbine advantage is that  the turbine and the oil of car will last longer. But if you  use more quality oil specialy for high performance cars with turbines and a larger oil cooling radiator  can gives you the same lifetime of the turbine.

P.S. That's just mine opinion! Look around and you will find what you need.

Good Luck!
