On my box I never had 2 drill or tap andthing to get it 2 fit on my engine

is that the jc series box

I'm not too sure fella ma box is off a 1.4 1997 clio sport

that would be a jb3 box then mate hence no need to tap it but the clio 172 182 run the jc series gearboxes

i have been told it is a crack in the box nothing large...it can be fixed by using liquid metal but i have been advised whatever is broken in the gearbox could damage the diff if the box is not replaced?? im unsure of what to do really

Thing is you have to ask yourself why it cracked in the 1st place...

a case wont just crack as there is not strain on it. either something within the box has failed and jammed up causing it to crack or you whacked the box ie car is low. box is a very straight forwad job no need to take the engine out either.

it was a joke i wasnt actually being serious!....I know what happened but unfortunately i dont know eactly how to put it...i was told something in the gear box has broken and that caused the crack to the housing/casing. It mayb straight forward for some1 who knows what there doing!! luckily for me i have a friend who can fit it for pretty much nothing and i can watch and learn! Im having it sealed 2moro untill i have the new box in.
