Ratlook 5 TD04 Project

Ok guys, after much thinking and contemplation i have decided to bolt a scooby turbo on the 5.



My problem if any will be that the engine wont spool the turbo, but after a  chat with the starlet boys with slightly smaller engines they seem to have no bother with it, although they do have 16 valves.

I already have a spare scooby exhaust that i can cut up as the rear flange is alot bigger than the standard turbo, that will be used as a sandwich plate between the exhaust and turbo, aswell as these for the manifold outlet.





I think its 6mm thick.

Will start to manufacture the plates this weekend and hopefully get it going also.

gonna be a bit of a lag monster. think you would be far better off going for a t25, maybe even t3

I would gladly have a t25 hybrid over this one, but its a spare and free
If it doesnt really work i can always remove it and search for another

it should spool ok! im pretty sure there are 5's with bigger blowers than a tdo4.

the starlet guys said they hit full boost about 4500 revs, ive never taken my car past 5500 anyway so i hope it works

if that's all you rev to then you are wasting your time fitting that blower!! it would have barely woken up!!!

well thats what im saying i still have plenty more to play with.
Should be starting to make up the adapter plates today.
plumbing tomorrow (or today if all goes smooth)

Adapter plates cut out and shaped.
Putting the appropriate holes and studs on these tomorrow then fit it, and sort out the plumbing.
