thats a bit fast........ think of the things that break the gear changes look terably awfull. obisly no coilovers or something at the rear to stop it squating like that

Shit that's seriously quick! When i read the title of this thread I thought it was gonna be one of those short wheelbase jobbies!
What's powering that beast then? Always a good idea to develop your engine to rev higher to set quick drag times - it was neck and neck with the fookin' bike FFS that's got a million times better power to weight!!!!

I reckon that's more than possible. One change would have to be inner wing/ bulkhead mods to make way for the bigger engine it would need. Loads of different engines have been fitted to 5's though including an Astra GTE 2.0 16v and (apparently) an RS500 4x4 cossie lump!!
I read somewhere once this was done and the bloke took it out, pulled up at some lights, noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet, the car caught fire and was totally destroyed as the result of an electrical fault.

I remember reading this I think in an old car mag years ago - anyone else remember this? Can't find any onfo online now.
Proves you can anything to the 5 though - if you want it bad enough and have a big enough wallet! :)
