closed loop dumpvalves anygood?

hi there i'm thinking of turning up the bosst on my raiderto 14psi and sticking on closed loop twin dumpvalves as i have read it helps with the dreaded turbo lag anyone had any experience with this? cheers

This will start another debate :)
Personally I don't see how dumpvalves reduce lag as when all your pressure has been let out the turbo will have to build it up again creating.... lag

Having used both re-circulating and open dump valves and not using one at all the only difference i can tell is the noise, i noticed no difference in performance or behavior from the engine.

i never noticed any difference with or with out a dump valve either but i have a dump valve fitted because ive bin told that the chatter noise u get without one isnt good for your turbo.

yeah me too i didnt notice any major difference but the ride seems to be a little more peacefull without them on lol (quiet) which seemed to make me feel as if the gear changes where smoother! lol


also some people say dump valves stop the turbo from stalling when on high boost pressure?
      but dont qoute me on that mind ya hahahahahahaha :wink:

yeh they do stop the blades stalling, thats wot the chatter noise is its not waste gate flutter as some people say

its a bit like when you are giving it 20psi with your missus and mid stroke you accidentally pop out and bend your pushrod against her rockercover. if it happens too many times the pushrod is rendered useless....
