I've never seen the point in them.

There's also the issue of them making it easier to get to the ignition wiring should your car get broken into, i'm not sure where insurance companys sit with these types of devices. Also is it not illegal to leave an unattended car running?

Personally i think the best turbo timer is the driver, i usually drive 'normal' before i get home after giving it a blast to allow the oil and engine to cool down.

i wud of got one but coz i have a alarm/imobiliser u have to get wired in around that an didnt fancy doin that myself lol

i have a turbo timer ad wouldnt be with out 1 coz there is always that 1 time when u 4get to drive norm and you will have to sit in your car and wait for it to cool a bit but with the timer i just jump out lock up and go in doors and as for the insur thing u can get a cat 1 alarm with a turbo timer built in

I have one on the Cosworth and I'll put one on the Express. It's just good insurance to keep the oil temp down in the turbo whenever you stop driving.

i agree, i just take it easy before i stop driving, and aint to bothered about waiting a min for it to cool.  :)

i thought the whole point of a turbo timer an the reason u let it idle before switching off was to keep an oil supply to the turbo while the blades  were still spinning
