Passed it's MOT with no advisories

Really happy. Been out driving it all day :D She handles great - really sharp. I imagine the polybushed subframe helped.

My mate took some pictures:

She still needs a few bits doing till she's 100% done, but yeh... Really happy! :)

Looks good, go and enjoy it!

It's a funny colour, sometimes it looks lilac/purple and then sometimes it looks blue. Different and looks good.

Cheers guys! Yeh scratcher - was well happy with no advisories :D

Tbf, there was no reason there should be - unless I'd forgotten about something, but I went over it enough times to try to ensure I didn't :)

Not driven it much today, but I wanted to  :P

You tell me mate - he was supposed to be sorting it but he didn't.

It's all sorted. Rusty metal cut out and new metal in place. Luckily it's in all the hidden places - ie, under the carpet, and under the sills, so a professional paint finish after the welding wasn't required!

Bit of an update.

Won some seats on eBay for £60. Took a bit of a risk, as I hadn't seen them, and the description was a bit brief, but they turned out to be pretty good! They are standard GT Turbo seats, but retrimmed in blue leather. Main problem was, they were in pembrokeshire, which is a 4.5 hour drive each way , so I went and got them in the BMW last weekend.

Basically changed them as I've gone off the buckets that were in it. Back when I started this project, the plan was to have it stripped and caged, but my ideas have changed, and I want it a more OE+ look.

Anyway - took a few pics. Not very good ones.. just took them on my iphone.

Yeh, they're good mate.. the leather is really tight, and stitched nicely. Someone has paid a few quid to get them done properly :)

Had a go at lowering it today.

Drivers side torsion bar came out nice and easily, but the passenger side, not so much

Got it out eventually though, and lowered it ~40mm. Think I went too low though. It's catching the arch cover on the drivers side (it's lower on the drivers side), and the passenger side will probably catch with people in the rear.

So next weekends job is to take them out again, raise it probably ~10mm, and get it level as well. Not bothered about raising it, as it's probably a bit too low at the rear for my liking anyway.

Pictures (sorry they're crap - iphone quality and poor light):

Found a friend hiding behind my tail light :D

Yes I know my numberplate is wonkey, and knackered... I have a new pair waiting to be fitted!

Love the colour, and the wheels dude.
I think that looks just right how its set there. Trim the plastic and keep it low!

Lol, nah - I think I would prefer it a little higher tbh. Either that, or I'd need to lower the front some more!

Done a few small jobs on the 5 today:

    * Fitted un-painted gutter strips (old ones were a bit knackered - had a few cracks and scrubs on them)
    * Fitted standard steering wheel with paint removed, and polished boss
    * Fitted parcel shelf / associated plastics
    * Fitted Renault badge
    * Fitted new number plates (old ones were knackered)
    * Gave it a good clean

Pics:

Got my standard spoiler waiting to go on too, but I need to do a few other things before I fit it
