i bought my VNT off ebay complete with the downpipe elbow for £350, thinking that even if it needs a rebuild its still going to same me a packet, luckily though it was ok.

its good being able to choose when the boost comes in but ive yet to perfect mine to how i would like it to be

It does take alot of fettling to get the VNT to boost how you want it to I ended up setting mine up so I would have full 24psi manifold boost @ 2800rpm the torque steer was unbelivable not to sure how markey b manages to get any traction with 27psi of boost.

Even when I had fueling and water injection problems I still managed to get 197.7bhp @ only 16psi.

on a mildly damp day it spins in every gear, i've learnt how to drive it to expect the big kick and can counteract it with less throttle

i do run it at 14psi day to day however, still very nippy and will see off most cars lol

I got that part about changing jets and drilling but I know that carb bowl often runs out of fuel under boost and that is reason why I asked how he manages to keep it good under sudden 27 psi.

other than an FSE pressure regulator and a modified float needle not alot has been done... i think its just alot of luck or some sort of renault voodoo lol

James had his car revved to 7800rpms on the rollers  :shock:

I was also about to start to play with an adjustable fuel reg & try different base pressures to see if it would help with a larger needle jet, still got the brand new reg sitting in my drawer as i never tested it

That was running 16 psi with a spike IIRC & it still made 197bhp...
Compared to mine revving to just over 6k & making 207bhp with a T25 @ 20psi with a boost flustuation up top (bloody Apexi boost controller, you can see it dip in boost if you watch closely)

the start bit is funny.. the dyno operator aborted the run as he didn't realised that it spiked to 30psi and thought there was a problem lol
