my winter job list : UPDATED (a little)

not been much happening on my 5 until lately, here is a little update so far..
had starting issues, off with the carb, turned out to be accelerator pump was seized, making it a mission to start from cold, and hesitant when blipping the throttle. Because my car is stored... i can't just put it straight back on... so got busy with the dremel
also got my spare manifold at my mates engineering place... its going on the CNC 2mora for some 'pocketing' for a mount for my external WG
next time i'm at the car, need to refit new dashtop, fit shiftlight and bulbs in the rollcage gauges... will keep updating as i go along

todays update:
manifold back to me until the wastegate arrives, then its back for it to be mated up to the plate on the manifold.
had to be welded on instead of cnc'd as the weld to make it flat kept destroying the cutters on the mill... oops
the carb polishing is ongoing as well.... keep doing bits and bobs here and there whenever i get a spare few mins
james, nah, not having any issues really, spikes to 30psi for a split second but its been fine like that for the last 3 years lol.
external wastegate is gonna be set to 27 to mop up the spike for a bit more noise thru the screamer pipe

Screamer pipes sound crazy. Loads of the cars had them at Jap-Fest last year and I kept looking out for fighter jets
The carbs come up well nice. I might have a go at doing mine a little, its due a freshen up anyway.
Good work bud

38mm, think i'm gonna scrap that manifold and do it again, too many mating faces to possibly leak... the mk2 will have a pipe welded straight onto manifold with the WG flange on the end instead

don't know much about screamers, but my mate had 1 on a different car, its basically a added short exhaust pipe that allows exhaust to run straight out into the atmosphere and also travell down the full system. don't know if theres a valve on them to stop it loosing back pressure or that only allows exhaust to go through the screamer when theres so much gas/ revs ? but they make an awesome loud scream, hense the screamer pipe. probs doesn't make any sense, but i had a go
and i guess they help to allow the system and engine run better, as a straight through system would ?
