Silicone/Bathroom Sealant.

Some numpty has fitted my rear numberplate with a massive splodge of silicon sealant.

It's well and truly bonded to the paintwork, any tips to get it off?

it needs to be peeled off really so you'd need to try and just get the plate off first. or maybe try getting a scraper/spatula between the plate and boot lid or number plate and salant. i'd tape up the paint work so it doesn't get ruined too.

The plates off, it came off without much fuss.

But it's left a big white splodge of nasty.

are you taking it off to do some paintwork on the boot lid? if you are i'd just scraper it or use a stanley blade to scrape it. i don't think theres many solvents that break it down.
