black 5, tinted windows. photoshoppers??
« on: 14:11, Wed 13 August 2008 »
Heres my black 5, am considering having the windows tinted, but dont know weather it will look a bit overkill black on black. Has anyone got any pictures of black 5's with tinted windows, or is there any photoshoppers out there who could do mine, was thinking might just get them lightly tinted then might look ok

How  much where you thinking of having them tinted and which windows were you thinking of having done??

Remember that the old Bill will stop you if you have the fronts tinted too much although IIRC the rear ones can be tinted as much as you like. The traffic Police tend to carry machines around with them now that can measure the amount of light your tints let in and can therefore tell if they're illegal.

I personally don't like tints on a black car (looks a bit drug dealer) for me although if yu're gonna have it done just have the rears done and leave the fronts as they are.

Sounds sensible to me but I'm not sure of how it will look with different shade of tins on the windows. I am sure there is someone on here that can do some Photoshopping for you or better still fits tints and can give you more advice.

Good luck.

The legal position is that the front side windows on all cars must allow 70% of light to pass through them. That figure also applies to the windscreens of cars first used before April 1985, any car first used from then onwards has to let 75% of light through the windscreen.

on the rear you can go as dark as you want

anything past the pillar (the fronts) have to allow 70% of light through.

on my clio iv gone limo (lets through 5% of light) on the back, and 50% on the front 2 windows, looks nice. As the fronts you can clearly see through but just have a slight tint to them so helps match the back.

Anyone got any links to a photoshop programme i could download?

Agreed mate but each to their own. If everyone did the same to their cars life would be boring
