r5 gt turbo

hello all, heres my renault 5 turbo, what do you all think about it? and before you ask i dont no what its had done to it, ive only just brought it.. i kno it has a stage 3 turbo.. polished & skimmed head i think the mechanic said.. jus had a rebuild.. lol

I can only tell you the obvious things done to it. Smoothed boot, bad boy bonnet, universal front mount intercooler, crystal clear rear lights, dump valve fitted, "lobster back" on the carburator, full set of silicone hoses in the engine bay, yellow for oil and water hoses and blue for air...

But you probably allready know all that  :lol:

It does not look as it have had the cup mod, so exept for the intercooler its not easy to say whats been done to it and whats not.

I'd like to think it has a hybrid turbo as well as it has a single port actuator, but it's hard to say really, looks like it should go well, looks can be decieving though, didn't you get a spec list or loads of reciepts ?
Also has a seperate oil cooler... depends if it was built for show or go

god knows then? yeh that oil coolers all connected..a friend of mine is mates with the lad who built it so ill get him to find out n ill let you all kno.. he said it was camed aswell?? but who knows thats the only bad thing about buyin a car thats already done.. lol

but yeah..it does shift tho    fair bit of lagg when you put your foot down in like 4th gear from cruisin but thats normal isnt it?

Normal for a big turbo yes, what boost you running?
Also do you know when it's on full boost by.. mine is on full boost just after 4k.

Sounds like a decent engine as well if it has a cam in it, depends on the turbo spec to what the car will do, some people just want big power, this comes at a cost of lag, if i were to have a road going track car (one that i drove everyday & tracked now & again) i would get a smaller turbo than i have now, depends on what you want from the car, what sort of driving you do etc...

theres 3 settings on the electronic boost controller but its set to 12psi at the moment just to be safe lol urmm not sure will tell you after when i go out for a spin in it will get some decent pictures too

12 psi on a big laggy turbo will feel pants, when you turn it up it will feel alot better
