Radiators on a PH2 GTT
« on: 09:20, Wed 16 July 2008 »
Hi,

just wondered if anybody knew whether radiators are a common problem on a phase 2 as the oil cooler in mine may have split and it seems to be a new radiator?  If so, does anyone know what would cause it?

Cheers  :D

Not usually a prob no.
Have heard of copper ones splitting, although mine seems ok & my last car had the cooler split & that was standard..make of that what you will...

Noticed no difference to cooling with a copper core radiator. I also found the elbow on the bottom of the radiator where the hose connects to sticks out a bit more then the standard radiator, these can rub against the engine mount and eventually split.

Had a problem with my old alloy rad all furred up a while ago..make sure your coolent is always clean and that you have the right dilution. replaced my old rad for a copper core [main reason i went for the copper core was it was the cheeper of them all at the time] since then its been flawless [sits 50% or lower on the dial at the best of times and never gone over as yet ^^[made by magnetti morelli our old italian pals]
