Thing is with the forge FMIC is it needs some chopping about to make fit IIRC, what sort of power you after & do you want it to still punch from low down?

You also need to have the carb re-jetted, or do you have one of those 'orrible Grp A jobbies?

i dont have a group a carb mine has just been rejeted as i heard group a carbs are more hassle than there worth and people go back to standard and rejet, would the forge intercooler make much difference ? i like my power low down and i have the 270 cam which kicks in nicely, so far my spec is...

engine consists of-brand new standard pistons and liners, lightened and balanced crank and flywheel, crank has been machined to 0.25mm,big end and little end, brand new oil pump,BB Tuning gaskets kit, uprated head gasket and bolts, stage 3 ported and gas flowed head,270 degree cam from BB Tuning, plus uprated valve springs and seals,250 bhp BB clutch, all new bearings and shells, brand new water pump, turbo technics stage 1 turbo, pace double capacity intercooler, currently running 14 psi, full stainless steel exhaust, scorpian 4 inch back box and the rest magnex, full samco hoses, bailey dump valve, carb rejetted.

i think its about 165bhp at the minute so i was told but what do you think ?? it would be nice to be around the 185 to 200 bhp so i had a bit more power but iam not complaining at the minute as it doesent hang about

Bigger intercooler would be good but as i say, it may require some modding/chopping of bodywork/chassis to fit.
Also i can reccomend a T25 with .47 rear end, nice power delivery & will take 18-20 psi boost.
The carb will need re-jetting though prob.
Turbo(new) will be £410 delivered, ready to bolt on.

I can supply turbo's mate ;)
I would need to make a call to make sure the price is still the same, i supplied one for Graeme on here & he is very pleased with it as far as i know, there is a post somewhere.

T25 with a .47 rear end £410 delivered (well the last one was)

If you go onto the Forge website there is a PDF file you can download which contain the instructions to fit the FMIC.

You don't have to cut the front bumper if you don't want to (but then whats the point of the FMIC, why not have one in the standard position) but you do need to chop some of the metalwork behind it.

As long as the engine is healthy then it won't be a problem, take into consideration where you drive the car most or what you want to do with it, mine was always going to be a 200bhp+ drag car so i can live with not being on full boost till just over 4krpms & i rev it to 7k, if you want a good fast road car, but like the early punch of the T2 sized turbo's then go for the cheaper one, if you don't mind revving the car over 6k & waiting a bit longer for the kick get a larger unit then go larger, the T28 rollerbearing will spool a little faster than the T25 with .49 but will boost harder & you'll run out of revs fast if you are running alot of boost ;) .
Also smaller turbo for 1bar, if you run 20psi or more a larger one won't feel as dead.

If i remember right you have a decent spec so you won't have a problem running any of the turbo's, i thought i'd warn you of the 'lag' issue as it's a totally different power delivery.
Also the carb will need sorting with wideband or on the rollers to be safe & the larger cooler will be good if you plan to run big boost.

as you no i only use the car on the odd sunday and its not my daily driver and i plan on doing a few track days with it and a few trips to pod, iam just one of those people who like to push things to the limit so getting 200+ bhp out of a little 1.4 would be really good and make the car a very fast little 5 on the road
