Leaky phase 1
« on: 15:47, Wed 25 June 2008 »
Hi i,ve just bought a phase 1 gt turbo which is leaking water into the cabin it is running down from the bulkhead into the footwells, i have removed the carpet and sound proofing but i cant really be arsed to remove the bulkhead sound proofing and dash. is this a common fault with r5's? this is my first one.
one thing i will add is that it has had at some stage some front end damage
which must have pushed the bonnet catch into the panel directly underneath the windscreen....you can see where it has been repaired. its def not anti freeze from matrix. cheers james

you'll prob find that when some one's replace the winscreen they hav'nt put tiger seal all they way arount the window seal so youll find that it will happen alot or have full comp insurance and throw a hammer at and get a new screen with a new style seal for your excess then you dont have any work to do.

Widscreen, battery tray (rots away & sometimes takes a bit of the bulkhead with it), holes drilled for aftermarket gauges/amps ..... just a number of things it could be.

it will be the lack of tiger seal for the window seal then
