No vacuum?

was trying to find out why the bov wasnt.....erm boving.

after inspecting diaphram all was ok so got a friend to bring a boost guage round that measures pos and neg boost. first we hooked it up to where previous owner had installed a guage using a T piece off the hose which drives standard guage. was reading positive fine but no neg. we then ran it directly where the bovs vacuum hose plugs into and again, no negative. we tried it on 2 guages but had same result.

so any idea's why i have no vacuum?

The line from the carb top will only see + pressure.
The line that goes from the carb base/inlet manifold to the AEI (or as some call ecu) reads + & - pressure, is it t'd into this ??

its T'ed to one of the lines going to the actuator, which goes to base of the carb so should be reading -ve

It won't read neg from that line + only, it needs to T into the line from right at the bottom of the carb/inlet manifold, it goes off to the black box (AEI) either above the turbo (ph 1-1.5) or in the scuttle area on the pass side (ph 2)

Boost gauge & D/V .

aha! this wil solve everything then! wonder why was plumbed in this way in the first place then :?
