Hi welcome to the forum.

Don't forget GSF www.gsfcarparts.com

Also don't be fooled by tuners saying uprated parts are better than standard it's not always the case i.e. copper core rad is a no no and the uprated starters will work but will not work for long and other parts can be purchased else where cheaper for the something.

I dont know of anyone who does Gt  in central Scotland apart from PCS.

Regarding the tune up if standard spec it is fairly easy to DIY. A haynes manual is useful to have. To start you could change the spark plugs fuel and oil and air filters.

The ignition timing is non adjustable. I.e you dont have to check and adjust it with a timing light as per some other 80s cars. As per modding the ignition system can be tweaked other posts will explain this in detail.

If you have access to a co gas meter you could set up the carb (idle speed and mixture co)

If you are unable to set the car up as per manufacturers settings then further exploration will be required. Some of the things you might have to consider is overhauling the carb checking all breather hoses for leaks etc.. A carb gasket kit will set you back about 20.

From then on if the car still isnt running right the other posts on this forum can advise on what to do.

Again if the car is std normal DIY servicing and tuning might be all you need to do. If modded then specialist tuning such as a rolling road tune might help, other posts will advise this.

Im sure other folk can offer more advice

Hope this helps
