The wheels look so cool painted up like that, Raider(ish) style.
What profile tyres do you have on the Speedlines?
I've got a set with 55's to go on tomorrow and I was wondering about the handling difference.

Hey mate,  they are 195/55/13  you can just about make it out on the side walls on the pic of the 2 wheels above.

Also the speedlines are only 5.5" wide...so not as much grip as a wider 15" wheel. It all depends what ur used to I guess.

Looking good G, they made up my mind for me although i want to try to get a slightly darker shade than those, i think the white will stand it.

 Cheers J  8)  it was a spare of the moment thing...  after thinking about it for a bit...  then the sun came out.... it was a receipe for something to happen.. pleased with how they turned out. Hope urs arrive soon...  8)

there was a car on the rtoc just like that and a guy had it called glen , have you done all the work to the car yourself or did u buy it like that ?? so clean , did u reseal the wheel archs ?? if so what with ??

Hi gtmatt,  oh I see what you meant :)  no... I've had this car over 4 years and the previous owner wasnt called Glen  :) I dont belong to rtoc  :wink:

Have a look on page 1 of this thread when I 1st restored it...the rest has been done over the years and shown along the way on this thread  :D Everything on the car was standard when I got it apart from a 4" zorst and a dump valve.

It didnt need much under the arches... just a clean up...there was no rust under the arches..  just a clean and some Hammerite was all it needed.

Thanks matt... I can see ur a new member...  how about posting a new thread with some pics of your car in the 'Your Cars' section?  would be good to see another 5..   can never see too many  8)  I've never stopped loving these cars..  they just get better to me.

Next bit to do...  getting the trim out for trimming  :)  looking forward to doing this bit...  I'm going to cover it all in suede alcantara to match the rest of the trim much better than the bare grey plastic.



...bit of bare naked A Pillar action...  :shock:




 The worst part in the car was the gauge pods (for the SPA gauges)...  they were Supermarket quality and just made the whole front area look cheap as chips. So now they are smashed up ( :wink: ) I'm going to find some other way of mounting them to look better fitted and better quality..   thats the plan anyway.. should look a lot better.. but havent trimmed anything before so will get the best stuff for the job and hope I dont mess it up.. think it will be alright tho  8)

Haha..  thanks mate..  I was worried about taking them out  (before I started)  where they fit between the dash board and the doors as its a bit of a tight squeeze in there, but after un-doing the screws and clips...  they came out on there own.. without any tug of war games..  :D  so all good!
