clio 182 engine into a 5?

Does anyone have any knowledge of how easy it would be to drop a clio 182 engine and box into a 5?  

 I know its been done but I cant find any info on the net and a couple of tuners I rang insisted that no ones done it, but I know they have!

There is no much more work than fitting 1.8 16v. Look on this side. 1.8 16v was in Clio I and 2.0 16v was also and there is little difference between those engines. Engine block from 2.0 16v is same as from CS and gearbox is from outside the same. So I think that you need to ask peeps that have 1.8 16v lump inside and improvise just a bit to fit 182 under the bonnet :wink:

I know of a few 172 & 172 turbo conversions in 5's (as well as a VAG 1.8t), alot of work involved & i'm sure the bonnet has to be raised or have a bulge fitted to clear it, not sure if the 182 is any larger than the 172 or not.
Join the RTOC if you want info on these conversions, i'm afraid you will need to join by paying a fee though.

182 only has little bit different intake and exhaust manifold. Nothing else :wink:

sounds like a pretty good idea. there is no difference between 172 and 182 in size as above....much better manifold and air filter.
