alright guys and girls, i am planning to buy a mk1 clio with an r5 engine in it, is there any differences in the engines (phase 1 and 2) or are they the same? how can i tell if it is a ph1 or ph2...

Phase 1 engines don't have a water cooled turbo and no knock sensor. Those are the two main differences i can think of, there might be more.

Ph 2's cooling system was revised slightly as well as the above changes.

Looking at the header tank yes & if the turbo is water cooled deffo (to lazy to look at pics again :oops: )
