there was a grey 5 turbo on ebay in kirkcaldy. its been on a few times now,

its h reg, recon engine, uprated head gasket, and a few other extras.

pictures look good, speal read ok, maintained regardless of cost etc.

so i travelled 135miles to meet the guy, he shows up 2hours late and the car is a s**t box!! well not happy

i could go on for ages of what all was wrong with it, and you still couldnt get the picture!

a waste of 7 hours and 270mile round trip

not worth £500, never mind the 1400 he had on his window!!

mate i wish i was you i travelled 220 miles on sat and had all the intentions of doing a serious check over of a car stating good potential instead i did a few normal checks handed over the cash and found a string of expensive shi**y things today, not happy with myself but get carried away.

its easy done to get carried away but people should be more honest, especially if they know how far you are travellng

well i was extremely stupid, i took the guys word that ny issues i could just take it back, oh no, aparently as i've tampered with car thats no longer an option so i have been well and truly had and no one to blame but myself, but i dont mind a bit of graft so going to continue with car and get it to a stage that i'm happy with.

You should of seen the problems with mine. Previous owner said only thing wrong was the headgasket was 'on it's way out'

I CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT YA MEAN MY CAR WAS MEANT TO BE PREFECT AND LOOKED THAT WAY WHEN I GOT IT. BUT KEEP FINDING PROBLEMS, I'M LUCKY THEY'VE ONLY BEEN SMALL ONES AT THE MIN. LIKE BACK LIGHT NEEDS RE-WIRING AND PROBLEMS WITH ALTERNATOR ALINEMENT. QUITE CLEARLY SHUDN'T OF PASTED MOT. I'M LEARNING FAST THIS IS GONNA BE AN A MONEY PIT. ALL WORTH IT THO I THINK.

in the past i've done engine replacments on car stec and had a good sense of pride about it after its done, i have no doubt now i have got one it'll sap money out of me faster than gordon brown but with little person on the way i have to slow down with the lavish spending so was hoping not to find to many issues with this one but does not seem to be the case, its riddled with issues

Alternator issues are prob down to the bushes in the one of the mounting points being worn or the wrong bolt in there, does it wobble about a bit when the belt is slack ?

its not my alternator thats got an issue mate thats so far not gone wrong lol only a matter of time.  :cry:

that 5 is back on ebay, but it now £1000

relisted due to time waster after time waster.

wish i could put a reply on his advert, he is the time waster, surely people will realise that somethng aint right with the car if it keeps going back on?!

had a problem with the belt coming off causing the car to get hotter than i'm comfortable with. lol. problem seems to be sorted now. the pulleys for the belt was not lined up right causing the belt to come off. managed to ajust to alternator slightly and i tightened to belt and now it running fine.
