Thanks, yes it was the one in auto trader.

It's got loads of paper work, old mots and stuff. Some years it had done 800 miles between mots, however ever time it was mot ed it was serviced.

The drivers bolster is a little flat and is starting to come away, but you don't notice when driving
Loved driving it down the west coast of Scotland - nice twisty country roads.

Here is a few more pictures.

I'm not touching anything on it.  The engine bay is like a new car. I'm keeping it totally standard. I'm going to service it - clean the underbody and underseal it. Apart form that I'm not touching it.

There is a story behind the car.

The owner was gave it to his son who was stabbed a a week after- he died .

So the father kept the car never sold it as it reminded him of his son and the day he gave him it. So it sat in the garage

Don't tempt fate, quick touch wood or something... I know what you mean, I looked everwhere for a mint original mk3 golf gti.. Went all the way to swindon to get a nice one and some lorry comes along and scrapes me bumper !! Chips away painted it the wrong colour so I ended up doing it myself and it aint great though but Im doing it again at the weekend !!

One thing I can't do is paint.

Luckily I know a retired painter - he will paint a car top to bottom inside and out for about £500 - removes all the badges, rubbers and trims.

Panels and stuff are not that much either.

I read about this paint you can get for cars and vans. You apply it with a roller. A mate said the results are very good.
