Im on the lookout for a un-modified'ish Gt Turbo that i can have a little play with but there seems to be a huge difference in prices.
There are alot of cars on Ebay with faults (head gaskets, bottom ends etc) that go for less than £600 then there are others that are fetching thousands.
Why the big difference?

Also is Ebay the right place to search for a Gt Turbo? I will have somewhere around £900 - £1000 to get me a car, will this get me a roadworthy car with MOT or am i being optimistic?

Any help and advice would be an advantage

As you're in Shropshire i'd sugest you popped over to Telford to see Bob @ CBG it's at least worth a call 01952 618419

I doubt Bob would have anything for sale in that price range, the cars he does sell are usually other peoples, he tends to strip most the R5's he gets.

Nice guy though, and no shortage of spares.

Well due to working nights all weekend i've emailed Bob on the off chance he might have / heard about something.

Typical though, i've lived in Telford over 20 years and never knew there was a R5 spares dealer down the road.

Going to see Bob either tomorrow or Wednesday.
I have emailed him and he said it was better to pop up and see him as he could explain better what to look for with the (limited?) budget i have.
Will let you all know how it goes.

Well i went along to see Bob at CBG in Telford, What a top bloke, spent a good 20 mins with me just showing me around his car (and a few that he was stripping) telling me what to look for when searching for my own car.
Its made me even more determined now to sell my MR2 and replace it with a Gt Turbo.
The only thing i will say and this is just a personal thing but i prefer the Phase 2, dont know what it is about a phase 1 but it just doesn't do it for me at the moment (although if i find the right phase 1 for the right money i'm not going to refuse it).
So as soon as the toyota is old im phase 2 hunting.
