Gt Turbo...Retro or Classic?

Was having a discussion at work the other night on cars and (as im hoping to get one soon) the R5 Gt Turbo came up in conversation.
We couldn't decide if it is considered a classic car or a retro car...
I said retro as i consider classics to be tax exempt but someone else said classic as they are over 20 years old and can be insured on a classic policy.
What do you say..

a retro car normally means a newish car made to look like older ones, (standard 1995 ish mini made to look like a old coopers but with some modern touches)

What I meant to say exaclty... :wink:

I would define it as a "modern classic" or "youngtimer" as these are usually called...
Too young to be an oldtimer (depending on classification, it's a car over 25 or over 30 years old), but not an "ordinary" old car... :wink:
