Superb car! I'd be too scared to use it in anger at that price though. I reckon that wreelybro has the ideal car - race heritage, easy to work on, plentiful supply of parts, the odd racing scar nothing too much to worry about........call me if you're selling!

Did anyone see the blue turbo2 on ebay recently? RHD?

Anyone go to Renault World Series at Donnington BTW? THere where a few R5 Coupe's on display. Hoping to take mine next year!

The problem with the R5 Turbo2 and Maxi is that there are many replicas out there (hence the "low" prices) and very few genuine ones... such a car, with a racing history, fully reconditioned etc. is actually priceless, but one has to have a price in order to sell... and such a price is dictated by the market, and demand for such vehicles...
Not so long ago, there was a similar car on sale, winner of the Tour de Corse, and it was approx. 80.000 euros if I recall correctly... :wink:

i dont see much sense paying all that just to for it to collect dust in the garage.id rather spend it a normal gtt and will probaly have money left over for insurace :P

I agree apsolutely!  :wink: It's just that some people pay sums tenfold higher that this for a piece of artwork... it's not that I don't appreciate art, but I certainly do have smarter ways of investing the money I have... :D
