Smoke comming from exhaust
« on: 10:06, Tue 14 May 2013 »
My fresh rebuilt engine is starting to smoke :-(
Done over 500miles of easy driving, oil + filter change (10w60)
now got more then 1500miles on it  (raised the boost a bit) and it starts to smoke @ idle also the breather pipe gives too much fumes.
And when i launch the car and rev it up to 6000 in 1st and 2nd it spills oil out of the oilsump breather... (this @15psi manifold)
done a compression test all 4cylinders between 9.2 and 9.8 bar (138psi and 147psi)

Piston rings damaged? turbo oil seals gone? (whole engine was rebuilt, except for the main crankshaft bearings and the camshaft + camgearing)

Compression seems a little low, typically mine usually reads ~150PSI and that's an engine of unknown history.

Yours isn't that far off though, but if it's chucking oil out through the breather pipes it isn't a good sign.
