center vent removal

Hi,
I want to place 3 gauges in place of the center ventilation, do i need to remove the whole dash for this? or wich parts?

I have done it mate you dont have to remove dash just pull the vents out then cut centre bar out i had to cut at back with a hacksaw blade  its a fiddly job  but not too bad

As above.

The section isn't removable, so once you start cutting it's a permanent change. There isn't that much space behind either, most gauges should fit but deep ones might be a struggle, my oil temperature gauge was about 4 inches deep and with the fitting on the rear it would hit against the bulkhead pushing it forward slightly.

For wiring I removed the instrument panel, drilled an appropriate sized hole between the two areas (it will make more sense when you see it) and fed the wires from the centre gauges to behind the instrument panel.

With the instrument panel removed and the panel under the steering column removed also, you have plenty of room for soldering and messing about with the wiring.
