There will be pro's and con's to it.

Pro's are fuel injection, 16v, start first time every time.
Con's no turbo so you will loose the turbo pull but then turbo conversion on that engine is fairly easy to do

A few of us have done it fairly easy conversion, I have done it, 5teveL has done it and markey mark has done the f7p n/a conversion but has the skills and knowledge to do turbo conversion with ease.

To be fair, I found the standard 1.8 16v quite nice to drive in a GTT. But coming from a turbo you will eventually miss the kick you get :)
