Hi Mate
Nope its pretty straight forward,

Remove air filter and intercooler pipe
remove water pipes (stick a bolt in the ends to stop coolant flowing out)
Remove oil feed and oil drain pipe
unbolt downpipe
unbolt turbo (4 bolts)

A decent spanner with a good grip.

If the nuts have been on for some time they might get quite stubborn to remove. The last thing you want is a knackered old spanner coming along and rounding all the nuts off for you.

Then it starts to become a bad day.

200BHP on a T2, are you sure?

What mods you got to your engine already? A T3 is a fairly large turbo and if its a full T3 it won't bolt onto the manifold due to the flanges being different sizes.
The turbo size you want will all depend on what you want from the car, response or power

Ah so its not exactly a T2 on the car, its a hybrid of T2 and T25. More than likely a T25 core with T2 rear housing on the turbo, more than possible to get 200bhp with that.

One word of wisdom, using an in-car boost controller with a grp A carb will spell disaster. The grp A carbs are not set up that well and fuel pretty poorly, when you use the in-car you will be altering the fueling and be leaning it out (more air going in)
I would have carb redone on a standard venturi body and set the boost to one pressure as the carb can only be set up for one pressure. If you choose for 20psi for example you jet carb for 20psi

need some help deciding weather to have the hybred turbo rebuilt? costing 360 quid so i rang cgb motorsport today for a price on a new turbo and got quoted 600quid? the guy i spoke to said id be lucky if that was all the rebuild would cost and i would be much better off if i brought a new unit as i would only have to have the old unit rebuilt again in a years time? and the new unit would last 70 odd thousand miles? what do u guys think? and yes ive heard that the group b carbs arent that great for the 5 may have to look into sorting that out too........cheers guys apreciate the help

I suppose it all depends on the quality of the rebuild.

Pick a specialist with a good reputation and you should be fine, I can't see why you would have to have a turbo rebuilt once a year?  :?

Obviously if your going to rebuild a turbo yourself on a bench using replacement bearings from eBay then expect your mileage to be significantly lower.
