Uprated Clutch @ the bottom
« on: 01:39, Thu 08 November 2012 »
Is it normal that i have to push the pedal fully down to get the gt in 1st? and its hard to get it in reverse, i got the green valeo clutch, its the one that should be used in the 1.7 turbo (b18ft, no?)

I would like to get the pedal to bite (the clutch lol) a lil higher from the ground...

Thnx!!!

Firstly make sure the cable isn't frayed anywhere. It's quite common for them to snap, they typically fray where the cable passes through the bulkhead.

It could just be the cable needs adjusting. After changing several cables I still don't understand the adjuster, I'm starting to think it's witchcraft.

I have found that if the look at the pedal assembly, there is a small plastic stop at the top of the clutch pedal. If you remove that, the pedal is able to lift up higher and you should be able to trigger the adjuster to tighten a few more notches.

Ive had the same problem on the original clutch, absolute witchcraft
I worked out about that plastic stopper after days of head scratching, did you remove it completely?

Once I got the adjustment correct I popped it back in.
