Hi, quick question, can i remove the swirl pot from my cooling circuit?, i dont like it, i know what it does, but i dont really believe in it :-)) Its a 1990 gtt ph2

What about the run in process of a complete rebuild engine? what oil, how many miles? and when can i floor it :-D :-D :-D

You can run the car without the swirl pot. The Phase 1 GT Turbos didn't have one and I haven't replaced mine since it cracked years ago.

As for the engine run in technique, it's a minefield. Google it and see how many different ways there are. You might as well ask which religion is the best to practice.  :lol:

I think the general rule of thumb is take it easy for maybe the first few hundred miles, dump the oil and replace with fresh.

Essentially you are trying to achieve a good seal between the piston rings and the liners.
