handbrake ajustment

how do you adjust the handbrake on the renault 5. its on disks . i thought it was the litle thing that atatched to the caliper that the cable atatches to but no luck

It's under the car, very near where the cable passes through the floor into the interior.

Undo the locking nut, and if your lucky you might be able to turn the adjustment nut with your fingers. Once it's set then tighten the locking nut back up.

If your unlucky the threads will be really mucky, and it's quite tight for room with the spanner from what I can remember.

thanks mate i need a new cable just checked and its fully ajusted. must of stretched at santapod yanking it on

As per Ash's advice's it's under the car above the exhaust roughly around middle of car, it's a y splitter with an adjuster bolt, get the car on axle stands and raise to a suitable height make sure the rear wheels are off the ground so you can make sure you don't over tighten

New cable speak with Mike aka phase i 16v turbo on here or try your local renault dealership for one
