Turbo rebuild
« on: 14:17, Sun 24 June 2012 »
Hello wondering if anyone could help me here, I have a t25 turbo in my r5, however it started smoking badly, I removed the turbo and sent it way for a rebuild, now when I get it back what should I do just simple put everything back together and fit it again or is there anything I should do/check/change when putting it back in, any help here when fitting it will be much appreciated
Thanks

You should do an oil and filter change when you fit the new turbo

It wouldn't harm to crank the engine over for a while with the ignition unplugged to make sure your rebuilt turbo has some oil through it before you start the engine.

There are a few ways. I simply just unplug the lead that connects the AEI unit to the distributor cap (the centre lead).

You can then crank the engine over as much as you want (or as much as your battery will allow  :D ) and it would never fire up.
