Identifying a stock wastegate setup
« on: 16:33, Mon 01 February 2010 »
Hello,

Is there a way to know if a wastegate setup has been altered to increase the boost and then switched back to original?

Thanks a lot

A way of telling if it has been played with to increae boost is the actuator arm will be shorter than standard.

Just look for obvious spanner marks on the locknut, i'm sure standard actuator arms have a hole in them, the threads visable through that hole should be punched flat.

On my 5 the waste gate has no pipes attached and a valve in place with a screamer pipe but I'm trying to find info on this valve due to it being diconnected please help or push me in the right direction :)
