Going from rich to very lean then back to rich again.
« on: 16:56, Fri 13 January 2012 »
Having a problem with my mixture. It seems quite nice at about 30mph showing 12.8-13.4 on my afr but if I ease off the accellorater or press it gently or turn a corner it then suddenly goes extremely lean also when it's hot at idle sometimes it goes really riches low as 9. I've checked the carb for any leaks and can't find any. Does anyone have any ideas? Daren't bloody go anywhere in it.

I think you might be being too over cautious. I would expect it to show lean when your coasting, that shouldn't be an issue.

If it shows lean when you have the throttle wide open, then it's time to panic.

It's not doing it on boost but it  bogs right down though when it does it and solitudes and chugs.

Found the problem today the pipe coming from the carb base had burst on the underside so it wasn't visible replaced the pipe and the cars running lovely now just need a mixture screw for the carb as it's running too rich and the screw knackered.
