exhaust stabilising brackets
« on: 19:51, Sun 04 December 2011 »
Hi guys,

this may be a bit of an odd 1, but today I have spent most of the day trying to fit a new (well 2nd hand) turbo downpipe to a stainless steel exhaust.

My problem is this, I can not work out which way the bolts go - from the downpipe to the front section of the exhaust, and which way and where the stabilising brackets fit to the engine.

Can any of you fine fellas enlighten me, and if poss would you be able to post a pic so I can see, as an explanation might get lost in translation

cheers in advance

Al

I'm sure on mine the bolts go down through the downpipe, then on the centre section side you have the springs, washers and nuts.

The bolts that hold the bracket to the engine?

I think there M-8, i'm sure i remember using a 13mm socket on them, or was it 13mm socket for the downpipe connection and 10mm socket for the bracket (M6 bolt)?

It's one of the above. I'm almost certain it isn't as large as M10.

yep Ash, M8

exhaust and brackets now fitted, not the easiest of jobs to do when everything is sat at about 0 degrees c and your hand sticks to every metal object it comes into contact with
