Not quite a 5 but still a GT Turbo
« on: 14:42, Wed 30 November 2011 »
I have fitted a GTT carb and T25 hybrid to a Polo G40 engine and fitted it in my Mk1 scirocco,

The car ran ok but it has always smellt like its over fueling abit, just of late its started doing it really bad and idling lumpy. I think the carb needs a rebuild tbh. but that brings me to the question of jets.

My engine size is 1272cc do you think it would be worth running smaller than a 1.7 jet? I will be running 1 bar of boost.

Cheers

PS.. I will be buying a wideband to set it up this time round

1.7 main jet is way too big even for that engine, i would say fit a much smaller jet

I would recommned fitting an AFR gauge into the car and see what its fueling like, but as say can see you needing much smaller main jet

He doesn't state which jet he is refering to?

I assume he means the needle jet, isn't the standard size 1.7?
