Another update.
Discovered shedloads of water in the footwells after the recent freak snow day we had. Stripped the interior again to soak it up. Turns out i had left a rubber bung unsealed in the firewall when i was exploring while swapping the GTT dash a while ago.

Today i had the interior out again (getting quicker each time lol). A friend came over to help me switch the Campus interior loom for the GTT one. Its mostly done atm, 95% plugged in, Hopefully we will be  refitting central locking and electric windows as a regular GTT would and also waiting to see if another friend can help in moving the immobilser power feeds into the new GTT loom as the campus came with an aftermarket immob. Its all spliced into the main 2 plugs on the heater box.

Also got most of the scuttle loom plugged in. I need to buy a new starter motor to battery lead as ended up cutting both by mistake :( Also switched the GTT speedo and turbo gauge hose, luckily the hole for the GTT cables was just plugged up with a bung near the steering coloumn. Easy job.

the GTT and campus loom are quite similar, its pretty much a case of plug and play down in the footwell corners, not forgetting the earth cable each side, (dont forget the GTT fusebox. 1 or 2 lives to route through to the scuttle area and obv the speedo and vac hose for turbo. scuttle loom comes in from left side of heater box , ignition barrel lives can just be unplugged and plugged in again so we can keep the campus barrel. I think thats pretty much all thats needed to get the GTT dash in and working afaik. I did notice that the GTT and campus brake light switch above the brake pedal werent the same, so will need to whip that one out the GTT shell later.

no pics, its just a big pile of wires afterall. who's interested in that...

I bumped into a friend of a friend last week , who claims to have the orginal airbox in the shed. hopefully i can get that back. He also named the lad who crashed the GTT and told me the fuel pump is from an XR3i lol. so i guess a new pump is gonna be needed to be sure it runs good eventually.

Done a few more bits today, changed the chassis leg loom on the pass side, completely forgot about doing it. spotted it in another post.    Does the driver side need switching aswell?

tidied some of my parts up.finding it hard to store all the bits in my little garage atm,

Had another look at the AEI unit, mines an F reg so i think its a 209 phs II unit, theres a little beige wire coming out of the base of the unit, thats an earth to the body isnt it?, and also coming off the back of the dash loom in the scuttle, theres 2 yellow wires with i think a switch or relay or something on, they go to the body to earth aswell dont they? Anyone mind checking for me?

Pulled the immobiliser out, my mate let me down so i couldnt be bothered to wait for him not to turn up another time. Ill pay someone to refit it another time.

A bloke on a bike came past and said,' you putting a turbo engine in that mate? thats gonna go like snot.'

Made me smile :)

GTT dash back in finally, minus instrument panel atm. Just waiting on the luuurvely red carpet drying out from its 1001 shampoo and jetwash this afternoon. Then that will be going in aswell. still got drivers side rear loom to thread into the campus shell aswell.

Converted drivers side manual window to electric, and also central locking on sunday. Thanks to Mick, a bloke i know :) Passenger side will be done soon also. its getting there slowly, Interior is pretty much all GTT bar roof liner and roof console.

im gonna wait and get a full set of engine gaskets before i fit the engine, seems best to do it as a precaution, didnt get any service history with the GTT originally.
Any other recommendations while engine is out?

Just rear axel/tank/pump/shocks/brakes/tailgate to come off the GTT shell now. then it will be getting cut up and weighed in.

I think its about time i listed some spares :)

Not much has been happening really for a while, finally got the last alloy off, had a snapped bolt inside   , saved both rear calipers, were in better nick than the first time i peeked at them. Need to buy a drivers side rear loom as i couldnt get the other one from around the tank. saved the relay tho. the tank/rear frame/disks/hubs and shell are going to the scrapyard in the sky tommorrow. unfortunatly this is the end of f210tbc.

ive also ,recently purchased this little shitbox for the grand sum of 350, not in too bad nick, 1.2 8v, 111k, no FSH, but 6 months MOT, keyed down one side, needs rear brake shoes, a suspension rubber on drivers side and a gearbox mount. oh and the headgasket has decided to play silly buggers after 1000miles. never mind, it did its job for 2 weeks in getting the missus through her 90mile a day commute to uni placement. Its in the garage as of today getting tinkered with. fix the head and a cambelt change aswell.

Wouldnt mind C1J'ing this one day, hehe

Bloody clio died of cam belt failure today. It never had it changed at the garage when I sent it in, turned out I had a coil pack problem so he didn't do it. And then today it DIES!! How ironic. I swear, no more mk2 clios ever again.

Sorry not been posting for a while, RL got in the way, but now im back and just spent 185 @ CGB on Timing chain, gaskets, manifold, downpipe, etc etc, still need to get a new engine loom and set of instrument panels, plus a heap of other odds and sods. ive just quickly worked out im looking a grand to get it back on the road, MOT, TAX, Insurance deposit and first month, but it shouold be worth it :)

Ive had a insurance quote of 883 for all mods declared campus/gt turbo reshell. whici i dont think it too unplesant. considering it will have 100% power increase on the old 1.4 8v engine campus
