clutch cable
« on: 17:44, Sat 05 November 2011 »
Hey.

Fitted a new clutch cable to the car today, but when I put the clutch in it fails on the ratchet and falls straight to the floor. Am i correct in saying that the ratchet on top of the pedal to the self adjuster is on a cam and has to be set up correctly to stop this happening?

Cheers

Jamie

You are correct. It needs adjusting.

It's a fiddly little thing.

At the top of the pedal is a small plastic stop. I find that by pulling that off i can get the pedal to lift higher and that seems to help with the adjuster. I then put the stop back in place.
