right i'm on an impossible misson to rid my 5 of rattles, my boot rattles and opens randomly anyone else every come across this? i've tried adjusting the striker and the latch to now avail. i cant drive without this happening

the lock/latch part on my squeeks like mad, so i have to drown it in WD40 every week....
Does it pop open when the lock is Locked?

yup! its really annoying as i'm more comfortable with the car now so i welly it around, and to say i look like a twat launching from lights against some vtack-er and my boot flies open is an understatement

Is it a bit like a pop up wing on a TT or 911 but not quite as cool :lol:
Sounds like the lock might be knackered, try getting a 2nd hand one, make sure you get one with a key as well!

this is really getting on my tits i cant drive the car at all without the fuckin thing opening.
it closes and catchs but if you shake it it opens.

Sounds like its not seating on the striker well enough or the lock has gone, more than likely the second mate
